Regain the freedom of your home with a straight or curved stairlift from Mobility Direct. Please note our straight stairlifts are not suitable for all staircases as they are specifically built for straight staircases.Straight vs Curved Stairlift
If your staircase has a bend or turn in it you may wish to get a curved stairlift. A curved stairlift will cost approximately 3-4 times the cost of a straight stairlift and will take 2-3 weeks to be manufactured and delivered as it is made to order and to suit your individual staircase. We can provide an exact quote once a home survey has been completed.Delivery & Installation
Our straight stairlifts are in stock and can be delivered within 1-2 working days. Price includes VAT, delivery & installation within the Leinster area. Installation takes between 2-3 hours with minimal disruption to your home. Our stairlifts are fitted to the stairs and not the wall. Curved stairlifts are made to order and take between 2-3 weeks to be manufactured and delivered. They take about 4-6 hours to be installed in the home.Grants
There are different types of housing adaption grants available from your local county council which includes stairlifts and in a lot of case can cover 95% of the cost of the stairlift. Currently a VAT rate of 13.5% is applied to the supply and fit of a stairlift in Ireland. If you are approved for a grant the grant will not cover the VAT but it can be reclaimed separately through Revenue. If you only require a stairlift for a short period of time then it might make more sense to rent instead of buy. We have a fixed charge of €200 to install and remove the stair lift along with a weekly rental rate of €50.Home Assessment
